Currently residing in his home of choice and calling, Berlin, Nick Hoppner skillfully balances, explores and contributes to a dramatically wide range of musical professions, proving him to be one of the backbones of today's house and techno underground.
Kyoto born, Berlin based producer, DJ, and label owner. 1/2 of Opal Sunn.
Opal Sunn is a live-performance duo by Al Kassian & Hiroaki OBA. The aim is to transcend the improvisational magic of the studio jam and funnel it into the live performance.
Hiroaki OBA makes House and Techno music and in his live show, he dismantles his own tracks and then recomposes them, like putting puzzles together.
Sound Metaphors proudly presents the debut audiovisual live set from Opal Sunn at Berghain Kantine. In recent years, the duo (Alex Kassian & Hiroaki Oba) have worked closely with Apiento’s Test Pressing, releasing a series of acclaimed 12”s accompanied by visuals from Berlin-based Visual Artist, Elekktronaut. On 26 June 2026, they bring this collaboration to the stage for the first time, introducing a new chapter in Opal Sunn’s evolving live performance. The evening will be opened and closed with DJ sets from Nick Höppner and An Toi.
