Join us for an exploratory listening session dedicated to the sonic landscape of El Salvador — the smallest state in mainland America, yet historically one of the most culturally dense crossroads within the wider Latin American and Mesoamerican continuum.
Through a selection of rare and essential records from a personal archive, Radio Vampiro traces the layered sound ecology of El Salvador: a musical culture shaped by migration, transregional exchange, local reinterpretation, and underground circulation. The session will move through overlooked recordings, independent labels, pivotal ensembles, and singular artists who contributed to the formation of a distinctly Salvadoran sonic identity.
Expect a journey across folkloric traditions, Latin soul, garage rock, cumbia, guaguancó, tropical psychedelia, disco-era productions, and other hidden gems spanning multiple decades of recorded sound.
Conceived as a collective listening experience, the session explores sonic memory, cultural transmission, and regional identity through archival recordings and contextual narration.
