Kensei Kataoka (@kensei_kataoka) presents Light Grooves at Caravan Worldwide.

The exhibition features a selection of photographs taken in Japan before the artist relocated to London, bringing together an earlier body of work in a newly considered presentation. A new zine will also be available throughout the exhibition.

About:

A photograph is made with the body, and it returns to the body. It no longer feels like photography is a medium, it feels more like one concept among many. What is printed is light and you're the one who reads that light. Whatever rises, rises from within the one who looks. And in that, you are also being seen.

Opening Party

5 July (Sunday), 12:00–22:00

DJs from 6:00 PM

DJ sets by @table_from_three, @komqsho, @ksk_jugemu, and @ren_tarrrrrro.

The opening will also feature special pieces by @chiqa, visiting from Japan. His work includes rigid denim and one-of-one remade garments inspired by traditional Japanese craftsmanship.

写真展「Light Grooves」が開催されます。

本展では、日本で撮影された写真作品を中心に展示。ロンドンへ拠点を移す以前に制作された写真群をあらためて見つめ直し、構成された展示となっています。あわせて、新作ジンも会場にて販売予定です。

また、日本から @chiqa が来英。日本の伝統的な技法に着想を得たリジッドデニムや、一点物のリメイクピースも並びます。
